James Howard

James is a Partner with the firm.  James focuses his practice on intellectual property counseling, procurement, and enforcement of patents, for mechanical, chemical, electrical, semiconductor, networking, consumer electronics, and computer software arts.

James provides services that span a diverse range of Intellectual Property areas. He has prepared and prosecuted both domestic and foreign patent applications in technological fields such as computer electronics, software, networking, signal processing, semiconductor fabrication, optics, graphics, consumer electronics, chemical, and mechanical. Among the other Intellectual Property related services that James provides are offensive and defensive patent reviews, validity and non-infringement analyses, and generating opinions regarding third party patents.

James started practicing patent law after seven years of experience as an engineer in various silicon and compound semiconductor device manufacturing-related positions. Examples of his technical work can be found in the patents and publications listed below. His experience allows him to quickly understand a client’s invention and efficiently draft a strong patent application.
