Robert’s practice focuses on patent related matters including patent preparation and prosecution of semiconductor related inventions. Robert has practiced as both corporate counsel and in private practice.

As corporate counsel for over ten years, Robert served as the Director of Patents / Senior Intellectual Property Attorney providing patent portfolio management and Intellectual Property strategic direction to Numonyx, BV, a 6,500+ employee, privately-held technology manufacturing company based in Switzerland with operations in U.S.A. and 18 countries across Europe and Asia, and served as the Assistant Director of Patents providing patent portfolio management and Intellectual Property strategic direction to Intel Corporation, a 100,000+ employee, semiconductor technology manufacturing company based in U.S.A with worldwide operations and fabrication facilities.

As a patent attorney in private practice for over ten years, Robert practiced as a solo practitioner and as an associate of Trask Britt of Salt Lake City, Utah and an associate of Curtis, Morris & Safford of New York City, New York.  In private practice, Robert gained extensive experience in patent and trademark litigation, patent interference practice, infringement opinions, analysis, and client counseling, as well as patent preparation and prosecution in a considerable range of technologies, including genetics/biotechnology, medical and medical analysis devices, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemical production, consumer products, and mining.

Prior to joining the legal profession, Robert was an Engineering Consultant at Decision Dynamics, Inc. in Lake Oswego, Oregon and a Process Engineer at James River Corporation in St. Francisville, Louisiana.
